BDG Law Group’s Senior Shareholder John P. Dacey will be the speaker at the upcoming Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Workshop for water professionals by the Association of California Water Agencies (“ACWA”). The 1-hour general CLE credit program is entitled, “Words Do Matter – Especially in Your Public Works Contracts.” John will show how fairly simple changes to regularly-used contractual provisions can provide solutions that will result in substantial savings to public entities.

John has been recognized as a California Super Lawyer for the past 7 years in Construction Law and has successfully resolved over 500 public and private works disputes. He was the chief outside attorney behind Los Angeles Unified School District’s $29 billion construction program, and served as Chairman of a Citizen’s Independent Oversight Panel that made recommendations for improvements to Los Angeles Community College District’s (LACCD) $6 billion building program. He was selected and serves as Lead Construction Counsel for LACCD.

This CLE program will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, California. If you would like more information on this topic, please contact John at [email protected].

BDG Law Group’s Senior Shareholder Gregory M. Bergman also will be a speaker at ACWA’s upcoming CLE Workshop. The 1-hour CLE credit program (substance abuse) is entitled, “Substance Abuse: Detection, Prevention and Treatment.” This will be an informative program about substance abuse in the legal profession, including how to recognize it, what to do about it, and why it is so prevalent.

Greg, in 2013, was again named a California Super Lawyer (Business Litigation). He was named one of the “Top 10 Environmental Lawyers” in the country by United States Lawyer magazine (2007-2013), is co-chair of the U.S.-Mexico Bar Association Environmental Law Committee, and is a member of the ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates), a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (only one-half of 1% of American lawyers are accepted), and on the American Inns of Court. His membership in these elite trial lawyer groups allows BDG Law Group to maximize an early evaluation of opposing attorneys and experts.
This program will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, California. If you would like more information on this topic, please contact Greg at [email protected].
