David Penner's practice primarily focusses on representing employers, including public entities and businesses, in employment and tort related litigation matters. He has represented large public entities, including the County of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Unified School District, as well as medium to large businesses.

Mr. Penner graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, earning his B.A. with a double major in History and American Culture. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. During law school, he served as president of the Jewish Law Association, and as a student chair of the volunteer program, Saturday Academy of Law.

Prior to joining BDG, Mr. Penner practiced employment law with another firm, representing Plaintiffs in both Class Action cases and individual lawsuits and arbitrations. He remains committed to serving his community and is particularly interested in promoting equity in education.

In his free time, Mr. Penner watches sports, enjoys musical theater, competes in trivia competitions with friends and family, and runs on the beach.
