BDG Law Group is proud to announce that it is being honored by the African American Male Educational Network & Development (A²MEND) organization with its Educational Corporate Award at its annual Scholarship Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 5, 2015. The Dinner is part of the 8th annual conference titled, “From Plan to Action: Examining Equity Minded Approaches to African American Male Success.”
The A²MEND Educational Corporate Award recognizes BDG Law Group’s advocacy, mentorship, and support for increasing the success of African American males in community colleges. BDG Law Group’s leadership and fortitude in fostering institutional change within the community college system to improve the success of students and, in particularly African American males, is receiving recognition. The Scholarship Awards Dinner will help support African American male college students who are participating in the A²MEND student mentoring program.
The A²MEND organization is comprised of African American male administrators and faculty who utilize their scholarly and professional expertise to foster institutional change within the community college system. In response to the lack of educational success of African American male students in California Community Colleges, A²MEND in 2008 organized its first annual African American Male Summit, which brought together administrators, faculty, staff, students, and advocates from across the country to address the administrative and instructional strategies that have an impact on the success of African American male students.
BDG Law Group is committed to and supports A²MEND as it strives to push the agenda of student success and the plight for minority males in higher education. Please see its website, www.a2mend.org, to help further the awareness of its cause.
