Recently, BDG Shareholders Brian Bergman and Greg Bergman tried a two-week eminent domain matter for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (SCVTA). SCVTA initially made a statutory offer to settle the matter and acquire the subject property for $11.8 Million. SCVTA later increased its offer to $12.8 Million to settle the matter. The property owner rejected SCVTA’s offer and demanded $14.4 Million. When the matter went to trial, the property owner increased their demand to $17.1 Million. Thanks to their successful efforts, BDG Law Group ultimately obtained a jury verdict for $10.3 million, a favorable result that saved the client millions of dollars.
